We've had a wonderful start to our year. We've spent time getting to know each other and getting familiar with our classroom routines. We begin each morning doing some fine motor activities after we have unpacked our bags.
It's been a cold long January. We are sorry we haven't posted in a while. Here are some fun pictures from our activities in late December and early January. Stay warm!

Earth Day Art
We read about Earth Day and discussed all the different ways that we can help take care of the Earth. Then we created some Earth Day art and got quite messy. Here are some pictures that we took before we washed our hands.

Prospect Park Zoo visit
We kicked off our insect unit of study with a visit to the Prospect Park Zoo. The kids were all so excited to see all the animals before we had an informative class on insects. Ask your child to sing the insect song that they learned to the tune of "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes".

PIzzeria Uno
We had a blast making our own personal pizzas! This was a fun was to end our non-fiction writing unit. We learned all the steps necessary to make a pizza and then wrote about it while our pizzas were cooking in the oven. We made our own designs with pepperoni, broccoli and cheese, of course.
