On Friday, we graphed our apples before eating them at the NYC Big Apple Crunch. We explored all the ways that we can sort apples. We sorted them by color, by size and by type.
It's been a cold long January. We are sorry we haven't posted in a while. Here are some fun pictures from our activities in late December and early January. Stay warm!

Decker Farms
We visited Decker Farms last week. We experienced part of how life was on a farm over 100 years ago. We tried cleaning rugs with a beater, and smelled soap that was made by hand using animal fat. We used shovels to dig a hole as if we were planting seeds in the garden. We also found out way through a corn maize, took a hayride and picked a pumpkin from a pumpkin patch. It was a great day.

Movement Breaks with Ms. Vail
We try to take many movement breaks in class. Some are energizing breaks and some are calming breaks. We try to incorporate a content area if possible like practicing counting by 2's as we do jumping jacks or flying to different areas of the globe and acting like an animal from that area. Here are the kids working with Ms. Vail, the physical therapist, during a movement break where they were acting like a sumo wrestler.
Music begins
Our year long music class has begun with Ms. Gabel. The kids were so excited to see her again and start singing familiar songs from kindergarten.
First Family Friday
It was so nice to see so many parents attend our first Family Friday. Thank you all for coming. We hope that you enjoyed playing math games with your child.
