African Artifacts

Annabel's mom, Tracy, came into class this month to talk to us about what the culture is like in some African countries.  Annabel's family lived in Kenya for many years and Annabel was born there.  Tracy brought in many items from Africa for us to see how they dressed other types of items that they use.

Author Visit - Selina Alko

Selina Alko, author and illustrator, came to visit our class thanks to the PTA funded Author Visit program.  She illustrated several books such as My Subway Ride and My Taxi Ride.  She is also the author of B if for Brooklyn.  She spoke to us about her experiences becoming an author and answered many of our questions about the creative process.
