Number Eating Alligator Song

We have been learning how to compare numbers using "greater than" and "less than" terminology and symbols.  We learned this song today and the kids all enjoyed the lyrics.  Please share this video with them and have fun!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Sharing our collections!

Composting in the classroom

Sam's mom Laura came into the classroom to teach us about composting indoors.  We started composting in the cafeteria last month.  Now we are composting in our classroom too!  We save our scraps from lunch and feed the worms about 3 pounds of food scraps per week.  Here we are setting up our composting bin and holding the tiny worms.  We think they will grow fast with all the food we are going to feed them!

Learning about lighting in Richmondtown

We visited Historic Richmondtown to learn about how people created light in their homes before electricity was invented.  We explored a home that used the sun and different types of candle lighting.  We were able to see the town general store and then made our own candles our of paraffin wax.
